Senior design team demonstrates final design at the IPPD Annual Meeting
Team CerebroStim, consisting of ECE, CISE, and BME students Jackson Cagle, Giang Nguyen, Neel Patel, Francy Perez, Kenan Tufekci, Dylan Zuniga, demonstrated the final design of their system enabling closed-loop deep brain stimulation based on wearable external sensors. The Integrated Product and Process Design (IPPD) Program is an innovative educational initiative at the College of Engineering, University of Florida, in which students work in small multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of faculty coaches and industrial liaison engineers to design and build authentic industrial products for sponsoring companies. Team CerebroStim was sponsored by Medtronic Neuromodulation (Minneapolis, MN) and coached by Dr. Gunduz, along with Brain Mapper Enrico Opri. Team members will soon venture out in the real world.
